Hello Friends.
I’m interrupting my self-imposed writing ‘silence’ (admin/taxes…) to see how we, as an amazing group of readers, can provide support to those affected by the Los Angeles wildfires.
After conversations with friends and a bit of R+D, I’ve compiled a list of small businesses, organizations and nonprofits that have boots on the ground and are helping survivors, first responders, and volunteers in a very real, meaningful way.
Of course, there are many more out there. If you’d like to add your faves, please do in the comments section on the Substack app.

Kicking things off is one of my favorite denim companies of all time, imogene + willie. They introduced the “I ❤️ LA” tee this week. 100% of the money raised from these t-shirts goes directly towards providing support to those affected by the LA fires — from major relief organizations to individuals, families and businesses.
The t-shirt, like all their clothing, is made here in the USA and screen-printed at their HQ in Nashville, TN.
They are also putting aside hundreds of pieces of i+w clothing with the specific purpose of giving clothes to folks who need to rebuild. This is a herculean effort by a small, independent business.

Great Organizations to Support
Wings of Rescue (they flew dogs from shelters in LA to other areas helping to ensure they weren’t euthanized to make room for incoming animals displaced by the fires)
I donated to Baby2Baby today. :)
