In our third issue of Conservation Dogs, I present to you a beautifully produced video by Conservation Media that I discovered eleven years ago when I was desperately trying to learn more about Percy, our Anatolian Shepherd.
It’s as beautiful and relevant today as it was when it was released in 2013. It explores how ranchers who struggle to coexist with large predators are finding new hope in Old World dog breeds. See how these livestock guardian dogs work for one family, and what it means for the maintenance of large predators, like the wolf, on the landscape.
